As one of the most desirable neighbourhoods in North Vancouver, Pemberton Heights is bordered by MacKay Creek to the east, Highway 1 to the north, Barbour Park (ridgeline) to the west and Keith Road (escarpment) to the south. It has Capilano IB Elementary (a top ranked school on the North Shore) as well as a daycare, pre-school, community hall (in the United Church) and The Corner Stone Bistro and General Store. Additionally it is surrounded by parks, with Sowden Park, Barbour Park, Ashdown Park and the MacKay greenbelt. With easy access to North Shore recreation it is just minutes to Grouse Mountain skiing and hiking, walking trails along the Capilano River, a short drive to Ambleside Beach or walking distance to the Capilano Tennis Club or Murdo Frazer Pitch and Putt. It has quick access to Highway 1 and is 20 minutes to downtown Vancouver (outside of peak traffic).
This neighbourhood is a great place to raise a family, with friendly neighbours and lots of community events along with the
Pemberton Heights Community Association. While some of this has been paused during Covid, there are annual events such as the Canada Day Picnic and Parade where families get together for a big barbecue in Sowden Park featuring a bike parade from the neighbourhood kids as well as a Christmas market, park clean-ups and more.
